Island Teachers Convene in Belfast

The third biennial Island Teachers Conference, held at the University of Maine’s Hutchinson Center in Belfast on October 17-18, drew more than 70 teachers and administrators from Maine’s island communities for two days of professional development and networking.  Workshops by 14 presenters covered grantwriting, district consolidation, reading strategies for students and much more.  Please see the November issue of Working Waterfront, the Institute’s newspaper, for more information about this year’s conference.
